Shaw amps are hand built one at a time using a mixture of new and vintage components. When available we use vintage Hammond transformers and chassis and then build up each amp from scratch using carbon film resistors, Sozo, Sprague,and silver mica tone caps, JJ’s electrolytics, micalex tube sockets, Cliff and Switchcraft jacks. Most all of our amps are true point to point construction with no turret boards and very little wire. We go to great pains to keep hum and noise to a minimum. Tolexed cabinets are made from birch plywood. Natural wood cabinets are finger-jointed from Mahagony, Pine, Walnut, or other special order woods. This blend of old and new, as well as vintage hand-wired construction, make each Shaw a unique, one-of-a-kind creation.
