I posted this on an other forum, and I think you guys would probably know best.  I just swapped out all the speakers in my cab. I had celestion relic 30's in it, and now it has wgs green berets, and splawn small blocks in an x-pattern. I am playing a 2204 and a splawn quick rod through this cab. Any of you guys find the green beret a little too in your face or snarly? I am trying to like them but i cant get rid of that harshness. Will the speaker mellow out as I play it? I replaced the green berets with a pair of relic 30's and the in your faceness was gone. i got these used but they were only a couple of weeks old. Do the Green Beret's need more break in time, because all other clips i hear of them they sound great, but mine were very snarly. I have them loaded in a jtm 45 copy cab. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hummm ...

All GB voiced speakers have a predominate midrange peak ... often described as "throaty", "raspy", "raw", or ... my favorite: "urgent".

Probably will change a little over time ... but will retain that signature GB tone ... it's not for everybody, but for some, it's the holy grail!
